Autistic people are the only source of progress for humanity. In times gone by every major innovation has come from the "eccentric" individual.
One of the reasons that there are so many cases of autism diagnosed today is that current conditions favour them, needing them to keep the whole contraption running.
The rest of humanity just goes on procreating and watching sport whilst the odd "eccentric" autistic is inventing the next energy source to keep their TV sets running.
