Today French radio amateurs have finally been granted permission to operate in the region 7.1 to 7.2MHz. Vive la France!

Not yet they haven't - ARCEP (the equivalent of Ofcom) made some errors in the annexe to the entry in the Journal Officiel (an entry in the JO is necessary for any new legislation to come into force). The actual effect is to widen the 'privileges' that certain RAs in France enjoy so it has to be rescinded and re-issued: ARCEP say that they are "trying their best" for a corrected entry tomorrow.

Patience is a virtue... of necessity when dealing with French administration.
