Yes WSPR is a very nice mod and it can give you a good understanding in a rather short time how the band is doing for DX and if it is open or closed. I have also used to to compare antennas in the past to see which one is better to certain areas. Great work getting the signal picked up way down south.
Mag loops are the most under rated antennas. Mine is 3 feet or 1 meter above ground. I have both an old AEA iso loop and the MFJ 1788. I use about 100 feet of rg58 as feed line. I swap them as the mood strikes as I don't have room for both at the same time. At present only using the loops. Never use more than 5-10w on the digi modes. Loads of fun and contacts. 73 George, NY4FD

I switched between the mag loop and the dipole to try and get a comparison but the reports were all in the same ball park.
