I have EXACTL...Thanx for posting the audio sample!

I have EXACTLY the same noise at levels of S7-S9 on almost all HF bands. I was not sure whether it was manmade noise, until this weekend...all my neighbours left for their summer vacations and the noise disappeared completely! At least now it is doubly verified and I know that there is a device that can help me to get rid of it.

Thanks!
73, NickUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09992585681161389987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-953397841255562532.post-74388794055290772372009-06-05T20:11:20.185+01:002009-06-05T20:11:20.185+01:00Thanks for posting this...there's nothing like...Thanks for posting this...there's nothing like being able to "hear" the difference with the "sound clip" included on this post. I've often wondered how effective this device might be in a noisy environment. Now I know....

John N8ZYA
Charleston, WV USA

ps...worked EA6UN in the Baleric Islands (QRP on 20 meters) a few weeks ago. It was also a "new" country (island) for me too.
Sure wish it had been at 4 watts from here...(1,000 miles a watt).Jspikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14751088160139882564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-953397841255562532.post-62740505162752584682009-05-26T14:39:19.803+01:002009-05-26T14:39:19.803+01:00Sorry to read of your QRN difficulties. Unfortunat...Sorry to read of your QRN difficulties. Unfortunately, this is going to become an even greater problem as time goes on and rfi devices in the homes of the general public increase. I have the same situation over here. Living in an apartment, my options are even less than yours.

I'm really not ready to put something like that MFJ thing of yours in line. The menues on my FT-817 are annoying enough. That and an antenna tuner. I'm just not prepared to fiddle with another device before responding to a CQ.

In any case, going QRT is out of the question. Looking at the current prop reports which read "poor" on all bands, my local QRN is the only "noise" on hf.

GL es 72/73
Dick N2UGBDickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10984094559146508871noreply@blogger.com
