I could not find precise building figures (coil turns and capacitor value). So I went on my own and build a 40m prototype dipole made of a central coil covered by a coupling coil (no capacitor).

Due to severe antenna restrictions I use this as an indoor antenna, QRP only. Of course, under those circumstances I noticed no coil warming up problems.

I made some nice QRP QSO from Belgium (Moscow, Bucarest, Belgrad).

I build also a serie of MicroVert DL7PE antennas (80, 30, 20m).

These are all compromises, but allow me to put some sigs out...

CU on the air...

73 de JakeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-953397841255562532.post-38685309376579135392010-04-23T16:28:44.728+01:002010-04-23T16:28:44.728+01:00Thanks! And the need for a very high voltage capacitor presents a constructional difficulty. But it might still be useful as a dedicated antenna for low power WSPR use or similar.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11984840704237681015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-953397841255562532.post-69078288988643788862010-04-23T13:42:04.188+01:002010-04-23T13:42:04.188+01:00Have you seen this page Julian?

QRPproject.de used to sell a version, but discontinued it for some reason.
From the reports I have read, the coils can get very hot, so hot that if you use PVC formers, they will soften. :-)
If I get the time, I might try and make one, I have found English notes somewhere, just need to find them again!M0JEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12466178955432628478noreply@blogger.com
