Your comment about the high/low power settings on the same channel makes sense in that context. On the Spectra, they call them "modes." Meaning you configure the radio a certain way (frequency, power output, etc.) then save that as a unique "mode." Then switch modes depending on operation. Kind of makes sense when you consider how public service personnel operate in contrast to how HAM's operate..

Thanks for your story regarding DOS. We're also investigating this in programming our Spectras.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02008117692180284514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-953397841255562532.post-9116661171625343192010-04-28T21:09:04.709+01:002010-04-28T21:09:04.709+01:00Hello Julian, your writing about the Toshiba and M...Hello Julian, your writing about the Toshiba and MS-DOS brings back some memories. I believe I still have a Toshiba portable computer somewhere at the attic. I have to take a look at it, it has been ages ago I played with MS-DOS. 73, BasPE4BAS, Bashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12958141238330445285noreply@blogger.com
